CNN Apologizes For The Use Of Crosshairs

For the love of Pete.

Before we go to break, I want to make a quick point. We were having a discussion about the Chicago mayoral race. My friend Andy Shaw used the term 'in the crosshairs' in talking about the candidates. We're trying, we're trying to get away from that language. . .[Emphasis mine]

This is getting ridiculous. CNN seems to be treating certain words like landmines, uh, like a diseased whore. . . Wait. CNN seems to be treating certain words as if there are something not to be used. I don't want to say 'bad' because that's implying a negative. Not-Good. CNN wants to use good words and avoid not-good words.

It's Newspeak in the hear and now.

  1. The country is already deeply infected by Newspeak ridiculousness - a generation of college students have had their educations stunted by PC speech codes. Now these dolts have not only graduated, but are now beginning to rise into positions of responsibility in organizations like CNN. This stupidity will be with us for awhile.

  2. I can only hope that the university keeps churning out uninformed and uninterested students so that they'll stop watching CNN and MSNBC en masse so those networks will fail that much sooner.
