Jobs Created, Saved And/Or Lost

As Jake Tapper notes:
The Obama administration's $787 billion stimulus bill directly saved or created about 650,000 jobs as of the end of last month, administration officials announced this morning.

That's barely a wash compared to last month's unemployment numbers. The numbers for October haven't been released yet, for obvious reasons.

"Nobody Ever Died For A Typewriter"*

Relax all you knuckle dragging Neanderthal Republicans. This is high brow concept art. You wouldn't understand. In fact, because you are offended by the defacing of this flag is why this concept works so brilliantly. Part and parcel as to why we Democrats consider ourselves to be superior to you Republicans in every way.

Pipe down and let the real artists work.

Nice to see them do that to a flag. What's next? Burning down a retirement home to show the urgency of Social Security Reform? That's the respect they show for the symbol of the country. To make a political statement about wanting government ran health insurance.

*To reveal my inner geek, that was one of my favorite lines from a comic book. The Marvel Comics run of GI Joe. Which was pretty good when it didn't start to delve into all ninjadom all the time.

Thanks to Jim.

If This Isn't Already, It Should Be Criminal

MORE: She needs her walking papers much the same way Gov. Schwarzenegger's latest Veto was delivered.

PREVIOUSLY: It's not like the date of last year's election was a surprise to the Virginia Board of Elections.
[U.S. District Court Judge Richard L. Williams] said Virginia's failure to mail more than 2,000 absentee ballots at least 30 days prior to the Nov. 4 election violated the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act, a federal law.

Due to the ineptness or the malfeasance of Nancy Rodriques, secretary of the State Board, the vote of the people serving in the military wasn't heard. And just how did Rodriques get her job? Appointed by Tim Kaine, Democrat.

Rodrques should be removed from office if she can't do her damn job. Others agree.

Louise Amato stood outside the State Board of Elections office at 1100 Bank St. in Richmond yesterday and held up a large sign that read: "Those who count the votes, decide everything."

She was quoting the Soviet dictator Josef Stalin and making the point that late absentee ballots from military personnel serving in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere should be counted.

"Support our troops, let them vote," read a sign held by Jim Smyers, who helped organize the protest on behalf of the Richmond Liberty Alliance, an offshoot of the Tea Party movement.

Given The Choice Between Saving The Earth And Bacon

I choose bacon.

By wanting everyone to go vegetarian, Lord Stern of Brentford is trying to impose his will from the top levels of government down.

Remember, bacon is a line in the sand. Be it nanny statists or watermelons (Green on the outside, Red on the inside), it's them telling you how to live your life.

One more thought: He's concerned about methane gas (farts) from cows and pigs. It's obvious that he hasn't spent anytime in an enclosed area with someone on a bean and cabbage diet.

Need A Table With Sturdy Legs?

Yet Another Video Of Children Singing About Barack Obama: Cowbell Edition

This stands out above the others. For one thing there's the cowbell. The other is it's been edited rather nicely.

So how many more of videos like this are out there? Besides this and this and even this (while not children but grown people praying to Obama)?

I'm sure that those educators would be teaching their pupils the similar songs if John McCain would have won the election instead of Barack. So nothing to worry. And all those songs praising George W. Bush that have been seen these last 8 years as well. I'll post those as soon as I find them, you betcha.

Anyway, it's not the kids singing the songs, it's the educators who are teaching them. To blindly follow and sing the praises of someone is disconcerting to say the least.

There's nothing wrong with role models for life's goals but there's a difference between admiring someone's accomplishments and outright worship of a man. Drinking Gatorade because Micheal Jordan does it is one thing. Drinking the cup of juice that Rev. Jim Jones hands out to everyone is quite another.

Will Al Gore Debate This Guy?

UPDATE
: Linked by No Sheeples Here in her round up.

Rhetorical question. Of course not. That would mean that ManBearPig would have to put his meal ticket on the line.

It's easy to scare people into the global warming hoax then avoid scrutiny by saying that the 'science is settled'.

Clocking in at a little over an hour and a half, make sure you schedule a block of time to watch it all. It's worth every minute.

Gadsden Flags For A Good Price

Find out where the next Cuccinelli event is and pick yours up for cheaper than you can find online. Being able to buy the iconic yellow flag cheaper than you can find online and supporting Sen. Cuccinelli at the same time? That’s what they call win/win.

It is easy to over look Sen. Cuccinelli’s race for Attorney General. Bob McDonnell and Creigh Deeds are running a rather heated race. And Bill Boiling and Jody Wagner are starting to sling some mud. Cuccinelli may be up in the polls but there really is only one poll that matters. That of November 3rd.

Saturday night in Beaverdam was a pig roast/fund raiser for Ken. Whoever worked the BBQ did a phenomenal job, by the way. It was a bit cold out but still there was a nice turn out for dinner and a chance to meet with the State Senator. Close to $10,000 was raised for him. Respectable for one night. But for a campaign like this, he can always use more. Seeing how Steve Shannon, his opponent, is out-raising him , money is one thing that Ken can use.

I didn't know about this until today but if you can, please donate to Sen. Cuccinelli's campaign tomorrow for an October 20th money bomb. It won't guarantee him a win but he can't lose without it. Virginia can use a good conservative in office to help keep Bob McDonnell in check.

Gerard Butler Is A Busy Man

After all the other Rule 5 action that has happened, I thought it should be fair to give something back to the other team. Who better than King Leonidas himself?

The first thing I noticed is that Gerard Butler has been a very busy actor since his role in 300. Just this year alone, he'll be in not one, not two but three different movies.

The second thing I've noticed is that Hollywood has been importing their Manly Men roles from overseas. Gerard is from Scotland. Hugh Jackman (Wolverine from the X-Men movies) is from Australia. Seth Rogan is from Canada. Yes, one of these is not like the others.

And the last thing I've noticed is that I need to get an Amazon referral account set up instead of linking to IMDB.

UPDATE: Smitty shows that he is an equal opportunist with setting up the links.

Friday Night Celebration

To congratulate Barack Obama on winning the Nobel Peace Prize, he may as well top that off with going to Disney Dizz Knee Land. Everything else has been handed to him, why not this?

Barack Won The Nobel Peace Prize? WTF?

UPDATE: The new ribbon for the Nobel Peace Prize for Barack Obama.

Seriously?

"Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world's attention and given its people hope for a better future," the Norwegian committee said in a statement.

"His diplomacy is founded in the concept that those who are to lead the world must do so on the basis of values and attitudes that are shared by the majority of the world's population."

Asked why the prize had been awarded to Mr Obama less than a year after he took office, Nobel committee head Thorbjoern Jagland said: "It was because we would like to support what he is trying to achieve".

Actual achievement doesn't count for much anymore, I guess.

More from The Times Online:
[T]he prize risks looking preposterous in its claims, patronising in its intentions and demeaning in its attempt to build up a man who has barely begun his period in office, let alone achieved any tangible outcome for peace.

The pretext for the prize was Mr Obama’s decision to “strengthen international diplomacy and co-operation between peoples”. Many people will point out that, while the President has indeed promised to “reset” relations with Russia and offer a fresh start to relations with the Muslim world, there is little so far to show for his fine words.

This From Ann Althouse:
Riddle: Why didn't Barack Obama win the Nobel Prize for Literature?
Answer: He wrote 2 books.

President Prissypants has had a 15 second career. After seeing Al Gore, Jimmy Carter and Yasir Arafat win, the Nobel Peace Prize has become a joke. With Barack winning, it only confirms that.

Micky Kaus makes sense out of one of the biggest WTF moments since Jan. 20th this year. Turn it down. Politely decline. Let the committee give the award to someone who deserves it. Like Neil Patrick Harris.

Coffee Is For Closers Round-Up

Due to a previous engagement (So I'm recovering from an ether soaked handkerchief my Samoan attorney gave me while out celebrating(Who, for the record, is neither Samoan or an attorney)), I couldn't be here so I called in a favor to my friend, Blake, to finish this for me.

UPDATE: Jimmie knows about the coffee.

All right, lets get started. First thing about a round up is to Always Be Linking. Be sure seal the deal with a link. Don't be like Barack Obama and leave thinking the deal is done to be shut out in the first round. He's not even getting the steak knives.

You have to be more like Carrol from No Sheeples Here. Now she is a Blogger Who Links. Despite the fact she didn't do one of her phenomenal photoshops she is able to point out a first. A comedy sketch by Saturday Night Live is fact checked on CNN? I wouldn't say that CNN is a news channel. When Red Eye comes on at 3 AM EST and that has more viewers than your lead in prime time show with Campbell Brown, you are not a news channel.

Little Miss Attila show why she has balls enough to be a Blogger Who Links. She's not afraid to say what most people think about Micheal Moore.

But the one thing that the Bloggers Who Link should never do is wear a flower sun dress to a posthumous Medal of Honor award ceremony. No matter what your level of education, it's plain tacky.

Robert Stacy is the Blog Fu master of Bloggers Who Link. For starters, he goes a long way to say the thing that needs to be said. And you can enjoy the ride there.

There's been a dust up about a nasty rumor about Stacy's past. I can assure you, nothing is further from the truth. Just because there is a camera pointed at Rachel Maddow's head doesn't make her an authority on anything. It's an issue of fake journalists repeating what their producers say in their earpiece. Besides, I heard a rumor that her coochie is a protective habitat due to the rare and endangered species of crabs who live down there. No Kwell for her.

Do you realize what these links are? These links are gold. They are At The Point Of A Gun links. And those links are not there to attract Google spiders. It's as if I have Levi Johnston Nude up on purpose for that very reason.

They are gold because these links see through the usual crap and can sum something up like THERE IS NO BAUCUS BILL instead the usual filler TV has to do. They can help sort through the political spectrum to help you see when groups are identified as far right wing extremists, they are actually run of the mill left wing moonbats.

Now remember. Always Be Linking and the coffee is for closers.

Levi Johnston Nude

UPDATED: Levi Johnston Nude has his own twitter page now?

Is that a Google bomb worth owning? Levi Johnston Nude? It's worked in the past but that was Carrie Prejean Nude, a young blond from California. Who knows. Levi Johnston Nude might work out after all. Hits are hits.

The Real Story Behind Bill Sparkman

Instead of reading about Bill Sparkman's murder by someone sitting on their ass, too lazy to pick up a phone for a simple fact check, read this by someone who has actually been to the scene of the crime.

The body of Bill Sparkman, a 51-year-old part-time Census field worker and teacher, was found Sept. 12 in a remote patch of the Daniel Boone National Forest in rural southeast Kentucky. The Census has suspended door-to-door interviews in rural Clay County, where the body was found, pending the outcome of the investigation. . . .

The article was datelined from Washington, D.C., which likely meant that the unnamed “law enforcement official” who was the AP’s source worked at the U.S. Department of Justice. The article said this official “was not authorized to discuss the case and requested anonymity,” and went on to cite David Breyer, a spokesman in the FBI’s Louisville, Ky., office as saying that “the bureau is helping state police with the case.”

Right. Anybody who knows anything about law enforcement knows that when the FBI gets involved in a criminal investigation, their “helping” generally takes the form of big-footing all over the case and bossing everybody else around.
[. . .]
In a single blog post, [David Empsall of MyDD.com] had connected Sparkman’s death not only to the health-care debate in Washington, but also to the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing and the 1968 assassinations of Martin Luther King Jr. and Sen. Robert F. Kennedy. By contrast, when I first learned of the Clay County case – some three hours before Empsall posted his connect-the-dots commentary - I was profoundly skeptical of any such connection.

Be sure to read the whole thing.

Who Knew?

. . . That at the world stage, there is a First Lady that's pretty, toned, and talented. Carla Bruni recently married Nicolas Sarkozy early last year, making her the First Lady of France.

I knew she was a former model and that was about it when she started dating Sarkozy. Then a friend of mine showed me a video of her playing the guitar and singing. She's more than just a pretty face. And when I found that photo of her a while back I thought that the guitar was only a prop.

For those who really need to know, you can find the lyrics translated into English here. Go at your own disgression. The site is obviously safe for work or home or even church. And it's nothing against the song in and of itself. For me, knowing the lyrics now take away from the magic of hearing the song in it's original language.

She even has her own IMDB entry with more than the average First Lady. The usual entry has stock footage of newsreels and the occasional documentary of their husband and appearances on Morning Shows. Not Ms. Bruni.
