Predictable

Rahm Emmanuel 'unexpectedly' wins the Chicago mayor election.

Thursday, January 27, 2011

Just When I Thought Rahm Was Out. . .

He gets dragged back in.

The Illinois Supreme Court ruled today that Rahm Emanuel can stay on the ballot for mayor of Chicago, saying in a unanimous decision that he meets the state's residency requirements despite spending most of the last year as White House chief of staff.

The decision came without a moment to spare; early voting for the Feb. 22 city election begins Monday, Jan. 31.

BREAKING: The Ballerina Is Out? Updated.

Someone is getting a dead fish in the mail.

Update: As funny as this may sound, it might not be a good thing that Rahm has been tossed off the ballot. It paves the way for Carol Moseley Braun.

Walter Todd Huston has this via Robert Stacy:

Emanuel will certainly take this case to the Illinois Supreme Court with the hopes that they can get an expedited case.

Rahm had won two other cases in lower courts. The Chicago Board of Elections and a Cook County court sided with Emanuel in previous decisions.

At that point, it will became a watching a game where you don't care which team will win, you only root for injuries.*

Proof People Magazine Is Brown-Nosing The Current Administration

To think, Rahm Emanuel was named one of People Magazine's Most Beautiful people. Are they pulling names out of a hat? Good thing they took Janet Napolitano's name out of the contest first.

And Tim Geithner? If you gave him a green coat and sat him in an oversized chair, he would look like an elf.

UPDATE: Tim Geithner is no Aurthur Kade. But it does help to have a brother on the staff of People Magazine.
