This Election Isn't Over Yet

AKA, One Last Call For Ten Buck Friday.

Renee Ellmers still needs your help.

Noted choke-hold expert Bob Etheridge will not go faintly into the night after finding a couple of hundred ballots someplace. Etheridge's "Get The Extreme Elderly Out To Vote" seems to be working better than expected.

The margin was close but enough for a decisive win for Ellmers. Until a "counting error" was found. If anymore votes are "found", it trigger a recount by law. And the recount will go on and on until enough votes break for Bob "WWF" Etheridge.

Ellmers needs your support more than ever.
Election night, after the ten counties in my district had reported their votes, I led Bob Etheridge by 2,100 votes. (That number is crucial because under North Carolina law Congressman Etheridge is not entitled to an ‘automatic recount’ if he trails by more than 1% – or 1,888 votes.)

Then, yesterday afternoon – unexpectedly – the vote totals changed. The State Board of Elections reported my lead had dropped to 1,600 votes. Two hours later Bob Etheridge announced he intended to call for a recount.

As a result, last night my campaign began hiring attorneys – eleven attorneys in all. One in each county to monitor each recount and an attorney to work with the North Carolina State Board of Elections.

Right now, our best estimate of the minimum cost we face is $50,000. But, of course, my campaign spent every penny we had before the election.

Yesterday, we appealed to the National Republican Congressional Committee for support, asking if they could contribute to help pay the costs of this recount. Their answer, unfortunately, was, No – that we would have to raise the money to pay for the recount ourselves.

I was afraid that would be their answer. Months ago, I went to Washington and asked the National Republican Congressional Committee and many conservative leaders to help my campaign. Many conservative groups – like the Susan B. Anthony List, Concerned Women of America, Freedom Works, and Sarah Palin’s Sarah PAC all helped, but the NRCC declined. Later, they did support other campaigns in North Carolina – which, unfortunately, lost – but we never received their support. In fact, their spokesman told the press “that the campaign wasn’t ready for prime time” – which actually made it even harder for us to raise money. So, I am doubtful we will get support from the NRCC to help with the expense of the recount.
Since that time, the NRCC has finally done their part for this "Not Ready For Prime Time" candidate who happened to win her election. They did the job they are supposed to do.

Back to Ten Buck Friday.

It was an amazingly simple concept that many blogs picked up on in the run up to the general election. At the end of each workweek, take 10 bucks (or 20 or 30 or whatever amount you wanted to use) and donate it. Instead of dinner for four at Pizza Hut, you could have bought a take and bake pizza and a bottle of soda and sent the price difference to the candidate of your choice. It's that easy.

So here is the scoop. I already donated to Renee's recount fund. And between all of the blogs I contribute to:

Out of those five blogs, surely there is a readership of more than a hundred people on any one day. And if those 100 readers could donate 10 bucks each, it would make it an easy grand in her bank. If it helps, I already donated $25 bucks this morning.

I don't make this bleg (blog beg) lightly. And I'm not saying that Bob "Five Martini Breakfast" Etheridge is out to steal this election. But I'm not not saying it either. And by steal I mean that liberals mean to render you mute on how you want this country to be ran. Don't let them steal your voice and your vote. Speak out today.

Thanks to Bob for some of the links and the reminder for Ten Buck Fridays.

Ten Buck Friday Winner

Winner winner, chicken dinner.

It was a bloodbath. Rev. Stephen Broden won for this week's TBF poll.

So to pause a moment to reflect what TBF is all about.  At the end of each week, instead of a bottle of Maker's Mark whiskey, consider a bottle of Maddog 20/20 and send the difference to Steven Broden or to another conservative candidate of your choice.  Ten bucks is merely a guideline, not a rule so please give more if you can.

And specify Ten Buck Friday on the form if you donate online please.

Related:  Interestingly enough, I was about to publish this when Bob's published his notice about TBF.  Beat me to it by about 10 minutes.

New Ten Buck Friday Poll For The Week

I'm a couple of days behind on this. A good blogger would have been all over this on Monday.

Anyhoo. . .

Ten Buck Fridays. It's to help people organize into giving to a worthy candidate at the end of a week ten bucks. Ten dollars doesn't seem like much but it adds up when everyone kicks it.

And you may not want to donate to Rev. Steven Broden in TX-30. There may be a local candidate you might want to donate to instead. That's fine. There are other choices in the poll this week.

Just know this, Democrat Eddie Bernice Johnson is the incumbent and she's as corrupt as they come:

Dallas Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson has acknowledged "making a mistake" when awarding her own relatives and 2 children of her top Dallas-based aide scholarship money intended to be awarded to deserving students residing in the districts of Congressional Black Caucus members. Johnson claims she wasn't aware of the rules for awarding scholarship money because the rules had been ambiguous in prior years. Since 2005 Johnson has awarded a total of 23 scholarships to family members. Johnson additionally awarded scholarships to 5 other students who did not meet the residency requirements specified by the nonprofit Congressional Black Caucus Foundation. Johnson again claimed she was unaware of the residency requirement for the scholarship.

Vote for Stephen Broden and give Johnson the boot. It's for the deserving children. Not Johnson's family who is siphoning off of public funds.

Besides, Johnson has a good sized war chest as it is. It's time to even up that playing field.

Forget Going Out To A Movie, Rent A DVD: It's Ten Buck Friday

I know what you are thinking, "Sure I can call up my girlfriend and go out on a date tonight" but wait. There's something better that that.

It's called Ten Buck Friday.

You can donate to a worthy conservative candidate for congress or governor instead of a date.

So if you haven't figured it out yet, it's called Ten Buck Friday and the concept is simple enough:

Conscientiously Conservative came up with a great idea. Each Friday she is donating $10 to a worthy conservative candidate now up to the November election. Several bloggers have joined the effort. Note that, if $10 is too much, do less, or do more if you can. The point is to get it on our calendars and in our minds – rather than putting it off for another time.

And if you are not sure who to donate to, Right Klik offers a poll to help choose. A sort of a guideline to follow, not really the rules. This week Ilario Pantano won [quoting Michelle Malkin].

Longtime readers of this blog and Hot Air know the extraordinary story of Ilario Pantano’s heroism. He’s the Marine sniper-turned-Wall Street trader who rejoined the military after 9/11, faced the death penalty for killing two Iraqi insurgents in the heat of battle in a terrorist-infested town near Baghdad, fought fiercely and successfully to clear his name, wrote the book Warlord chronicling his experiences, and defended other defenders who volunteer to put themselves in harm’s way for their countrymen.

Come one. It's a worthy cause. And you didn't really have a date tonight anyway.

Thanks to Bob Belvedere for the reminder. And it's always good to throw Bob a link because he is very generous with linking back. Not to mention he's a heck of a blogger too considering he is living behind enemy lines in The People's Republic of New England.

Bob, The chair is against the wall. The chair is against the wall.

New Ten Buck Friday Poll Out

It's a new week and a new batch of candidates up for a poll over at Right Klik.

For those of you new to Ten Buck Fridays, it's simple enough concept for even the most liberal of democrats to follow.

Here's how it works: For Ten Buck Fridays, congressional candidates are nominated and voted on throughout the week. The winner is announced Friday and cross-promoted amongst the supporting conservative blogs. These blogs then promote a $10 per donation money bomb for the winning candidate. Would you go to the link I've posted here and cast your vote for me? Tell your friends!

Doug Hoffman is up this week. He was in the special election in the 23rd Congressional District in New York state last year. He barely lost out to the Democrat then. Help push him over the top today.

Ten Buck Fridays Winner

Renee Ellmers. Who was one of the candidates Gov. Palin endorsed on the 90th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment.
Renee Ellmers is a true citizen-politician running in North Carolina’s 2nd Congressional District. Having worked in the health care industry all her life, she joined countless other concerned Americans at the town hall meetings last summer to protest the disastrous Obamacare legislation. And she didn’t stop there! Renee decided to join the ranks of patriotic mothers across the country who have the courage to run for office this year and fight to make sure our children have as bright a future as we were given. Renee has an uphill battle against a truly out of touch incumbent who made news not too long ago when he was caught on video assaulting a student who asked him if he supported the Obama agenda. Simple enough question, but this Democrat Congressman who’s been in Washington for 14 years turned violent rather than answer it. My point with this is that Renee is willing to answer that question. She supports a commonsense conservative agenda which will put our country back on sound fiscal footing. Please visit Renee’s website at www.reneeforcongress.com and follow her on Facebook and Twitter.

The concept of Ten Buck Friday is easy enough. For the price difference in going out to a restaurant for pizza to getting a frozen pizza to take home, you can support a worthy, conservative candidate for Congress. And still have some change left over.

You can donate directly to Ms. Ellers campaign here.

Reminder: If you give less than $200, you can label your donation by putting the words "Ten Buck Fridays" in the occupation field of the donation form.

Thanks to Right Klik for the screencap/picture.
Vote for Renee.

Thanks to Sinistar at C4P for the input.

Ten Buck Friday Poll

As Carol at No Sheeples Here reminded me, it's the start of a new week and a new poll for Ten Buck Friday.

The goal of Ten Buck Friday is simple enough. At the end of the week, chip in ten dollars to the candidate of your choice or vote in the poll and donate to the winner at the end of the week. Think about it, for the price of two value meals throughout the week for lunch, you can throw a little support toward a worthy candidate.

This week has a few Gov. Palin endorsees on the list with Renee Ellmers, Sean Duffy, and Col. Allen West.

My vote goes to Renee Ellmers. It's for the safety of random strangers who happen to pass by Bob Etheridge.

Cross posted at Conservatives 4 Palin.

It's Friday And The Alexander Hamilton Signal Has Gone Off

You know what that means. Ten Buck Friday.

For the price difference for dinner for two between Outback Steakhouse and Applebee's, you can help support a worthwhile conservative candidate for Congress. A candidate who doesn't have the benefit of George Sorro's puppet 527 groups to laundry campaign funds to them.

Maggie's Notebook has more about Ten Buck Fridays.

The winner of this week's poll is:

Chip Cravaack, running for the U.S. House seat for Minnesota's 8th Congressional District, receives Ten Buck Friday donations with 31% of the vote for Week 5. District 8 is in the northeastern part of the state, and includes Brainerd, Duluth, and Grand Rapids, and International Falls.

Thanks to the always reliable Bob Belvedere for reminding me this moring.

Ten Buck Friday Poll Is Up

Over at Right Klik.

Marco Rubio is always a safe vote* but the others are good too.

*I am biased when it comes to Rubio, however.

Ten Buck Friday

Missed this last weekend but today is Ten Buck Friday.

At the end of every week, take ten bucks and put it towards a solid, conservative candidate of your choice (or one of the winners in the Ten Buck Friday poll) for a week ending mini-money bomb.

This week's winner is Van Irion (more about Van at the link).
