Yes, It Does Get Worse

Robert Stacy has the find of the day. A pole dancing doll for the kiddies. Read it through for the updates regarding Kourtney Kardashian and Kendra Wilkinson and their respective (heh) pregnancies.

To answer the rhetorical question being asked, "Can it get any worse?" Yes. Yes it can. Kendra will need to set up the obligatory college fund for the little tyke. When mommy get's her figure back and some help from Photoshop, you'll know exactly what she'll do too. Hef will be eyeing up the baby (if a girl) and doing the math in his head when he can legally publish her in the magazine. Taking time out on the photo shoot so she can get dressed enough to put the towel over her shoulder so you can't see the baby eat.

But on the other hand. Kendra did say she found God. That does depend on Kendra's definition of God, however. A wise man once said that being a Christian in California means you don't touch the hard drugs.

With Kourtney, it's more of a toss up if she'll go the route of Kendra. She has her dignity to look out for. She will get a new reality show out of it. Kourtney Kardashian, Baby Momma. Why not after Jon and Kate And The Hot Dog In The Hallway (or whatever the name of their show was).

The sad thing is I don't think I scratched the surface for the question, "Can it get any worse?"

UPDATE: Kendra is on Twitter, with over 300,000 followers. Much much more than Meghan McCain's 55,000. Think, Meghan, of how much more influential Kendra is than you are.

When The MSM Can't Go Any Lower

Matt Cooper tweets this:

It feels a bit like 9/11 on Martha's Vineyard. End-of-summer weather is achingly beautiful but the mood is melancholy because of Teddy.

Obama's Youth Squad Is Watching Out For You

Via Michelle Malkin.

The Pros: Drafting school kids to perform part of the census will save money.

The Cons: Encouraging school kids to report on their parents. So when the US version of the Komsomol begins, everyone would have been exposed to it in some form or another. So it won't be such a shocker then.

he government has launched Census in Schools, an all-out campaign targeting superintendents, principals, teachers, students and, indirectly, parents, as schools open across the nation this month and next. The message: The Census is coming and here's why everyone should care.

The goal is to send posters, teaching guides, maps and lesson plans to every school in the nation, Puerto Rico and U.S. island territories to encourage everyone to participate in the national count. The materials will land in more than 118,000 schools and reach 56 million students.

"It's great to reach the children because children are such strong voices in their homes," says Renee Jefferson-Copeland, chief of the Census schools program. "In households that are linguistically isolated, they can express the information to their parents."

I did find a copy of what the Youth Census Borough's uniform will look like. The kids seem to like it too.

Teddy Kennedy Passes Away

UPDATED: The Nave has already christened a new ship for Ted. Surprisingly enough, it's not a submarine.

Mary Jo Kopechne could not be reached for comment (Time to put this joke to rest for the last time. It's been beat like William Kennedy Smith's date to their Florida Compound).

But Robert 'KKK' Byrd wants the Health Care Reform fiasco to be named after Teddy.

I'm thinking "Sickaquiddick".

You know who called this back in March and was called to task about it?

I'm waiting on Rush's Super Bowl picks.

This Is Where Eli Roth Insists Upon Himself

Really? Does Eli Roth think that he is that influential?

You directed a fake Nazi propaganda film that airs in the middle of Inglourious Basterds. Was that the most twisted thing you’ve ever made?
I thought I had made some horrific movies before, but there I was, filming that propaganda movie, Nation’s Pride. The whole thing is this guy in a bell tower shooting American soldiers and it’s all supposed to be about the glory of Hitler and the power of the swastika.

I’m in the scene where they watch the movie. So there I am, a Jewish director, sitting with 300 Nazi extras watching this movie and going crazy. They’re in character and acting, but hearing them yell “Heil Hitler!” and “Kill the Jews!” in German, my stomach dropped. I looked at Quentin and said, “What have I done? Did I just start the Fourth Reich? This movie is going to reignite the Nazi party and they’re going to make me their Sarah Palin!”

Nah, it was just a way for him to make a cheap political point which he knows nothing about.

Deeds Needs More Than A Reset Button

Is Creigh Deeds taking campaign lessons from Hillary Clinton?

Reset, Overcharge, it's the same to Deeds. Not so much for the rest of Virginia.

Thanks to Vincent.

Yet More Math On This Blog

I'm not the greatest at algebra but I do know enough about math that this is a rotten deal.

Note that the PPIP program:

Has the Treasury matches whatever a private investor puts up, then credits 6X as much capital. So if the Chinese are buying $2 billion, the US puts up $2 billion, and then the PPIP allows the purchase of $24 billion of distressed assets in the open market.

All for $2 billion dollars. Oh, and the FDIC would guarantee the debt being issued by the PPIP.

Thanks to Muffy.

Listening To The Great Communicator One More Time

It's like he gave this speech for our time, not his. He reminds us how it goes deeper than just health care. Health care is just a tool, the means to the end.

I've listened to this before in the past but Stacy McCain had posted it the other day and reminded me of it. So, credit due where credit is needed (and to make up for the other times I've lifted from him and forgotten to give him credit).

There Will Be No Math On This Quiz

Pop quiz, hotshot. What Is The Difference Between These Two Videos? Both are Town Hall forums that Rep. Shelia Jackson Lee attended.

And Video 2:

Thanks to Ace and Patterico for the hint, the clue, and the answer.

Do You Trust Your Health Care To This Man?

Via R.S. McCain.

Teddy Kennedy freely embellished the term 'Star Wars' on President Reagan's vision of the Strategic Defense Initiative and the fat ass from Mass was never called on it. But when Sarah Palin uses 'Death Panel' to describe Zeke Emanuel's view on how to limit government run health care for the elderly, the press calls her crazy. What would have been a better term to describe the Dr. Death Of The New Century's paper on how to ration government health care(PDF file)?

This civic republican or deliberative democratic conception of the good provides both procedural and substantive insights for developing a just allocation of health care resources. Procedurally, it suggests the need for public forums to deliberate about which health services should be considered basic and should be socially guaranteed. Substantively, it suggests services that promote the continuation of the polity-those that ensure healthy future generations, ensure development of practical reasoning skills, and ensure full and active participation by citizens in public deliberations-are to be socially guaranteed as basic. Conversely, services provided to individuals who are irreversibly prevented from being or becoming participating citizens are not basic and should not be guaranteed. An obvious example is not guaranteeing health services to patients with dementia. A less obvious example is guaranteeing neuropsychological services to ensure children with learning disabilities can read and learn to reason. [emphasis and bold mine]

Clearly, more needs to be done to elucidate what specific health care services are basic; however, the overlap between liberalism and communitarianism points to a way of introducing the good back into medical ethics and devising a principled way of distinguishing basic from discretionary health care services. Perhaps using this progress in political philosophy we can begin to address Dan's challenge, begin to discuss the goods and goals of medicine.

End Of Life Mercy Specialists? Yeah, that's better.

Quote For The Week: The More Things Change Edition

The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed, lest Rome becomes bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.

Word Of The Day: Surreal

I don't think that word means what she thinks it means.

Among the people randomly chosen to ask questions at an Obama town-hall meeting in New Hampshire was 11-year-old Julia Hall, whose mom just happens to be a big-deal tort lawyer who has given big bucks to Democrat. Also, in similarly random fashion, Julia Hall's mom, Kathleen Manning Hall was on the New England Finance and Steering Committee for Barack Obama and a coordinator of Massachusetts Women for Obama. And in another completely random occurrence, Mrs. Manning Hall was sitting right next to little Julie at the town hall meeting. People who were randomly surfing Facebook noticed that Mrs. Manning Hall's profile picture showed her standing next to Barack Obama.

These entirely unrelated coincidences were "surreal [bold, mine]," Mrs. Manning Hall explained to the Boston Globe.

At a totally spontaneous Town Hall meeting too.

In Their Own Words

It's like what Stacy said about reporting. Give someone enough rope and they hang themselves with it. Same thing in the age of the internet and Youtube. I'm sure there is a crack team of journalists from the New York Times on this as I write these words.

Thanks to someone.

Another Asinine Ad From The DNC

With the DNC holding 60 seats in the Senate and a huge majority in the House, who is holding back Obama from getting his agenda across?

Thanks to Drew over at Ace of Spades who has more including this from the Community Organizer in Chief:

In Elko, Obama tried to anticipate his critics and called on the crowd of about 1,500 to sharpen their elbows, too.

“I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors. I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face,” he said.

Something To Ponder Over

I don't know too much about the background of the video below other than the group, Young American's for Liberty dared to speak out without the proper permit in Washington DC.

Are permits to assemble really the best route to go regarding the right to free speech and assemble? It's one way to help filter the system. If you need a permit to protest on the steps of City Hall, then it sorts out more of the random mob mentality. Takes planning in advance to get the permit and a chance to get the people organized as to where and when. But it also gives the Public Servant (Mayor, Senator, whoever the Public Servant is. And they are Servants to the Public) knowledge before hand so that they can be away.

There is a need to assemble sans permit. Say Senator Richard Head (State Notarealname) is called back to his home office for a day or two. What city bureaucracy can possess a permit to assemble in that amount of time? The same Sen. Head has been ignoring what his constituency has been telling him how to vote as Senator in this representative Republic. At that point, it wouldn't be an assemble but more of a spontaneous gathering of concerned and informed citizens who want their viewpoint heard.

Permits for speaking is a controlling issue. When government -- whether local, state or national -- is dictating who and who can't speak and assemble in a public area, is that still free speech anymore?

Remember, RAAAAACIST Is With Five 'A's

The picture on the left is of George W. Bush.

The picture on the right is of Barack Obama.

Which one is considered to be high art worthy to be inside Vanity Fair and which one is the LA Weekly crying racism ("The only thing missing is a noose.")?

LA Weekly used the noose here.
