Racial divisions have surfaced in the town of Cleveland, 40 miles north of Houston, ever since last Thanksgiving’s alleged gang rape of an 11-year old Hispanic girl.
Most of the 17 suspects accused of sexually assaulting the preteen girl are black. And on Thursday night, community activist Quanell X hosted a rally there.
With some of the defendants’ parents standing next to him on stage, the activist took up a collection for their legal expenses from the largely African-American crowd.
While a few of those accused have admitted their guilt, he says others are probably innocent.
“She lives in another community,” Quanell X told the gathering. “You mean to tell me the only men that had sex with that girl were black men, locked up in that jail?” [Emphasis Mine]

A Couple Of Notes For The Weekend
Have a busy weekend so to hit upon a few things before my big weekend of community organizing (I'm helping to coach my daughter's soccer team. If that's not community organizing, I don't know what is).
Ten Buck Fridays? Bob has it covered.
Billy Boy Ayers getting rejected? Ace has that.
Snappy comebacks for Christine O'Donnell? Robert Stacy has that. Seriously, if dabbling in witchcraft as a teenager is an issue, then shouldn't an admission of sniffing coke in an autobiography as a twenty year old be one as well? Of the two, sniffing coke is actually against the law. Even in California.
Klavan on the Culture? Yep, Doug has that.
I would like to take this moment to wish my brother in law congratulations. He is retiring after 20 years of service to our country with the Navy.
And finally, for your random clip of Michael Savage goodness:
Update: By popular demand (Okay, by one demand), More about Bill Ayers being denied emeritus faculty status.

A Divider, Not An Uniter
If I had to use one word to describe Barack Obama, it would be divisive. If it was three words 'bastard' and 'socialist' would be in there somewhere.
He can't make it a week without castigating someone. One of the latest examples is with the Gulf Oil spill and how his administration is going to deal with BP. By keeping their "boot on the throat of BP".
They aren't the only one either.
Barack Obama would have trouble trying to unite chocolate and peanut butter.

They aren't the only one either.
- He's been speaking out against Fox News and Rush Limbaugh for some time.
- The greed of big pharmacy and health insurance companies.
- Calling the Tea Parties, 'Tea Baggers'.
- The illegal immigration law in Arizona.
Barack Obama would have trouble trying to unite chocolate and peanut butter.
