Ed Schultz admitted he was in error in deceptively editing a clip of Gov. Rick Perry, removing the meaning and context of the governor's statement. The deception was first revealed here at Breitbart.tv.
He did not apologize, and he did not explain to his viewers that the deceptively edited clip was used by Schultz to make a false allegation of racism against the Texas governor.

David Gregory: Politicians Know More About The Budget Than The American People
It's not that complex.
You spend less than you take in. The people who do spend more than their intake usually end up bankrupt, losing their homes or getting their kneecap busted by Guido, the local loan shark.
Gregory is making it more 'nuanced' than it appears (and giving the US Government way too much credit). Even people like Felonious Munk understands the debt ceiling. His words, in fact are "How do you approach the ceiling without knowing you're close to the ceiling?"
He calls Bachmann's plan "Reckless" but fails to mention that the bipartisan plan that did pass ended up with the Nation being downgraded by S & P.
But it's easier to spend others people money rather than to stop the spending.

Video: Did Rachel Maddow Purposefully Mislead Viewers On 'Meet The Press'?
Yeah, the question is more rhetorical than anything.
Watch Breitbart.tv expose how NBC News' Rachel Maddow cherry-picks facts to make the S & P downgrade appear to be a partisan slap at Republicans. She also theatrically reads from a document on the air making it appear as though she is reading directly from S & P's statement.
This is a device Maddow uses often on her show. She takes a dramatic pause and reads from a paper on her desk which subliminally suggests to the viewer that what she is saying has some extra level of validity.

Is This For Real? Sen. John Cornyn Approached Joe Scarborough To Run For Senate?
Gadzooks, it might not be a joke after all:
Just what the Republicans need. Another Senator who will capitulate his own side in order to 'work across the isle'.
UPDATE: Clarification is called for. It wasn't Florida but New York Cornyn talked to Scarborough about.
The genius who picked Charlie Crist over Marco Rubio is back to his old tricks in the Sunshine State.
Sen. John Cornyn (Texas), who heads the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), told The Hill on Thursday that he has talked to Scarborough a couple times about a Senate bid. And he indicated he’s still working on persuading the MSNBC host to run for the upper chamber.
“I’d be delighted to talk to him a third time,” Cornyn said.

Where Lawrence O'Donnell Exercises His Acting Chops And Expresses His Faux Outrage Against What He Thinks Is 'RAAAAACISM!'*
File under: Seeing what they only want to see:
Untitled from Breitbart on Vimeo.
Be sure the read the whole thing.
Anyway, pointing out that MSNBC is biased is like pointing out that "The Son of the Invisible Man" was still visible (mildly not safe for work clip. No language but use your digression).
*Because ninety-nine times out of a hundred, when a liberal or progressive cries "RAAAAASISM!", it's only something they disagree with.
Progressives have taken issue with a cartoon published recently on this website mocking the government overreach of the First Lady’s food regulations. The cartoon ran specifically post-Super Bowl to emphasize the double standard of what Michelle Obama says regarding American diets, and the food choices offered at the White House’s Super Bowl party.
Lawrence O’Donnell stopped his beta male “Say Anything” pining over Bill O’Reilly long enough to bore us all to tears with a discombobulated diatribe about why the Hudnall/Lash cartoon was racist but apparently screaming for the lynching of Justice Thomas was not. Oh! My bad! O’Donnell said nothing of the prog-Thomas-lynching or the Cain-monkey-slur.

It's A Sad Commentary When Cracked Magazine Is Able To More Accurately Report On A Story Than The Actual News Media
Mainly, anything that related to the Tea Party.
Be sure to read the entire thing. Even the Jay Leno/Conan O'Brien dust up that. . . Wasn't.
For all those wackjob birthers captured on film wearing frilly lady blouses and triangle hats, there were thousands of ordinary people just living their lives, being regular, and not liking how their Republican Party had turned out. And even though Tea Party members tend to skew toward older, middle-class white guys, their overall demographics aren't that far from the rest of the country. Of course, regular people are about as riveting as dry toast, so they didn't get much screen time. Which is why it came as such a shock to everyone when 32 percent of Tea Party-affiliated candidates won their elections.
By focusing in on the assclowns the media painted a picture that not only wasn't accurate, but pretty much made constructive political discourse impossible. They didn't just fail to do their job -- they did the opposite of their job, and they've been doing it for years.
Like back in the 1960s, when they homed in on long-haired hippies dancing like spazzes and plugging every orifice they could with flowers, then declared these ding-dongs the voice of their generation. In reality, most kids from the 60s never looked like that or behaved that way, but that doesn't mean they inherently supported the war in Vietnam or were opposed to civil rights. They just weren't part of the hippie fringe. Look at your mom's (or grandma's?) yearbook if you don't believe us. Or look at this picture from Woodstock.
In case you can't tell, most of the guys are sporting relatively short hair ... at Woodstock.
So when we watched coverage of O'Donnell and the Tea Party this year, we were only getting the bonkers half of the picture. Now that CNN is teaming up with the Tea Party Express to host the Republican debates next year, we'll probably see a lot fewer costumed revolutionaries. But everyone will just assume the Tea Party cleaned up its act, when in reality it will be CNN.
Be sure to read the entire thing. Even the Jay Leno/Conan O'Brien dust up that. . . Wasn't.

"It's Not Violent Rhetoric When Directed At Republicans"
Is what I'm guessing Chris Matthews might say if someone put the irons to him, demanding why he would denounce Glenn Beck for 'violent rhetoric' then-- mere seconds later-- compare Tea Partiers to Nazis.
Nazis being responsible-- next to Communists-- for some of last centuries most horrible crimes against humanity. But like all good progressive plans for their utopia, it ends in death camps.

Violence From Tea Party Right Wing Violent Progressive Radicals
The Other McCain has more about Casey Brezik's recent assault.
I was able to capture these out of his facebook account to show that he was more liberal radical than anything.
Che as his hero.
What is currently on his wall. I think he made one of those options he was talking about clear.
A call for revolution.
Quoting Che. He's looking further and further left to me.
Bragging about what he did at the G8 Summit. Proudly spitting in an officers face.
Part I of a thread where he declares himself to be a radical.
Part II of the thread where he declares himself a radical.
In September 2010 Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon was scheduled to speak at Penn Valley Community College in Kansas City.
At some point, wearing black clothes and a bullet-proof vest, 22 year-old Casey Brezik bolted out of a classroom, knife in hand, and slashed the throat of a dean. As he would later admit, he confused the dean with Nixon.

Christine Amanpour Tries To Link The JFK/RFK Assassinations To Today's "Political Atmosphere"
I have to put this into context.
You can go outside of Reno, Nevada to visit a legalized brothel. To legally pay for sex and not worry about getting arrested. There are rules, however, that need to be followed. For the girl's safety. But if you offer them enough money, most of the time the rules are considered guidelines.
With that in mind, here is Christine Amanpour trying to link one thing with another that has nothing to do with each other.
It's been shown on this blog and others about Jared Loughner's mental condition and how he wasn't political. Crazy doesn't have an ideology.
The assassination attempts of JFK and RFK have nothing to do with the shootings in Tucson. Or political climate or "Violent Rhetoric". Which, in more cases than not, it's "Speech That Liberals Don't Like To Hear."
For the record, JFK was shot by a Communist sympathizer and RFK was shot by Sirhan Sirhan, a radical who had Muslim sympathies.
And yes, I was comparing Christine Amanpour to a dirty, dirty whore.

Meet The New Tone. . .
Same as the old tone. Rep. Richard Cohen (D-Head in a Hole) and others engage in hateful rhetoric against Republicans in the House.
So much for keeping it civil.
This is good, I can go back to saying that I would like to sit Keith Olbermann on a Judas Cradle overnight. Figuratively speaking, of course.
Related: Anderson Cooper, to his credit, puts the fire to Richard Cohen's feet in this clip. I'm okay is saying that seeing how Cohen went full Godwin first.

CNN Apologizes For The Use Of Crosshairs
For the love of Pete.
This is getting ridiculous. CNN seems to be treating certain words like landmines, uh, like a diseased whore. . . Wait. CNN seems to be treating certain words as if there are something not to be used. I don't want to say 'bad' because that's implying a negative. Not-Good. CNN wants to use good words and avoid not-good words.
It's Newspeak in the hear and now.
Before we go to break, I want to make a quick point. We were having a discussion about the Chicago mayoral race. My friend Andy Shaw used the term 'in the crosshairs' in talking about the candidates. We're trying, we're trying to get away from that language. . .[Emphasis mine]

From 20/20 Tonight
It was a special edition of 20/20 with Diane Sawyer interviewing the husband of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and how she is recovering.
There was a little talk about Jared Loughner, the guy who actually shot Giffords in the brain, but much, much more lip service was paid attention to "violent rhetoric" talk. Which had nothing to do with Loughner. Because crazy has no ideology. But that wouldn't fit the narrative. So no matter how unconnected, Diane Sawyer was going to smear the Tea Party.
This is why the main stream media sucks and needs to die a fast death. Wait, was that violent rhetoric? This is why the main stream media needs to pass on with minimal amount of resistance, post haste.
Update: Nightline is playing a condensed version of the 20/20 show. Loughner was mentioned a few times. And no mention about 'violent rhetoric' either.
If anything is learned tonight, watch as little network news as possible. There is less chance of them getting a key part of the story wrong.

I Watched Parts Of The Movie Zeitgeist And Didn't Even Get The T-Shirt
Robert Stacy has a copy of the video up. It's a bit out there. Especially with the Christianity stuff. It sounds more like the Number 23 Enigma than anything else.
And anything that questions how 9/11 happens needs to be seriously scorned.
The movie did have an impact on Jared Loughner (quote found at the link above):
Most of the movie seems to be a "Rage Against Those In Charge" diatribe. If it's political at all, it is to the point of anarchy. Not the pseudo anarchists who are really socialists but real life anarchists who want no rules.
Except that anarchy can never happen. Pretend that actual, no rules anarchy broke out overnight. True anarchy. It would be every man for himself. Someone will always step up to take charge of the situation. A man or woman with a big gun will emerge to control part of their block. Then larger groups will form in the hopes of self-preservation. And so on and so forth to the point of gangs and clans starting to control large swath of territory.
Self-governance will happen of sorts. A clan will form with their rules and impose them on the population they can control. Until another clan or gang can move in to take over the territory. If anarchy broke out
Why a gun? Or whatever weapon of choice at the time? It helps to control order. It's why a well armed society is a polite society. Everyone is on equal footing.
Anyway, anarchy seemed to be the general direction that the makers of the movie wanted to go. That's what I got out of it, at least.
I didn't watch the entire movie. It was one of those things-- like Coast To Coast AM-- that if it starts making sense, you've listened to it for far too long.
The movie is extreme, to be sure. Extreme to the point where it may even go all the way around the political spectrum into left wing territory and the state (some sort of provisional government would need to) controlling everything and the absolution of private property. Why isn't this in the news as part of Loughner's motive? If he had issues with reality and Giffords was his personification of government to him, it wouldn't of mattered what her political party was.
Yeah, I know. It didn't fit the narrative that Conservatives are bad.

Bush Derangment Sydrome Still Going Strong? The Deuce You Say!
Two years after Pres. Bush left office, some people still have to let the hate burn. The video clip is at The Blog Prof.
Maybe the cold fire of disdain for their version of Emmanuel Goldstein keeps their mind off of their own self-loathing. That and how Bush sold as many copies of his memoir in two months as Clinton did of his in six years.
What I think really pains most liberals is that they never had a chance* to try and impeach Bush the way Clinton was impeached. An eye for an eye.
*Or the courage. It would have been over the Iraq War** involving who knew what intel and when. From what I've seen, Bush's staff kept everything on the up and up with the checks and balances in Congress. So it would be show trials more than anything. Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi knew what the White House knew going into the war. No matter what they say today.
**Or more accurately, the Global War on Terror's Theater of Operations in Iraq. Nuance.

Video: A Rebuttal On The "Are Fox News Viewers Misinformed?" Survey
Via Ace.
There is a lot of wonky policy and budget speak in this but if you can stay with it, it's worth watching the entire 20 minutes.
Basically, the people who released the 'study' cherry picks their data and assumes a lot of answers. They have the end result in mind and work backwards to help back that up.

I don't think this is an example of the Journolist 2.0 (AKA, Cabalist) getting the talking points out for their team as much as it is an example of the mindset the Main Stream Media.

Reason # 244,345 To Stop Funding PBS
What the hell, I'm throwing NPR in with this as well. Go big or go home.
Via Doug over at his Gator hangout and News Busters. Go on, watch the video. I'll wait.
The video is from last May but it still doesn't change the stupidity that is Tavis Smiley. If there ever was an affirmative action hire, Smiley is it. And PBS knows it too. Why else would they schedule his show late at night after Nightline is over?
To start with, Smiley grossly asserts that Christians are more responsible for acts of terror "every day" (his words) than Muslim extremists. Then points to himself and says that he's a Christian as well (Which is funny in retrospect. Didn't realize he was admitting he was a terrorist). He then props up Columbine as an example of Christian terrorism.
Except that Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold where not Christians (If they were, they weren't acting out In The Name Of The Lord the way Islamic Terrorists scream, "Allah Akbar". A subtle but very important difference). Cassie Bernall was, however. She was shot by one of the two during the Columbine shootings.
Sure, there has been in the past an occasional shooting of an abortion doctor. The important thing to keep in mind is when that has happened, the mainstream Church readily condemns said shootings. And I can't remember when the last one has happened.Almost over ten years ago[See update below]? Compared to other acts of terrorism (really, what other word would fit) that has been committed recently.
I guess you can throw Timothy McVeigh in the domestic terrorism column. He fell under the lone wacko variety rather than religious fanatic. Ted Kaczynski could be placed here to. Except that he was a religious fanatic of the environment. One could even say druid like.
Back to Smiley.
He repeats the lie about Emmanuel Cleaver being called the N-word. With all of the video cameras rolling that day and not one instance of that word being uttered. If it was said, it would have been replayed constantly, digitally processed and every letter pronouncement analyzed. Don't believe me? Mel Gibson, Charlie Sheen and Michael Richards would disagree.
That the N-Word was said is a damned, dirty lie and until a video clips shows otherwise, I'm going to keep on saying it's a lie. Because Emmanuel Cleaver is a filthy liar. It was needing to be said.
Anyhoo, I could go on about Smiley's asinine, ignorant and stuttered ramblings but it's like shooting prairie dogs with a .22 rifle. After a while, it gets boring. You need them to line up in order to shoot them two at one time.
The guy from the movie, 'Radio' could do a better job than Smiley and wouldn't need subtitles in order to understand what he was saying.
Sylvester Stallone has better pronunciation in 'The Expendables' than Tavis.
Smiley must have naked pictures of Charlie Rose and Jim Lehrer together someplace. Besides the affirmative action scenario, that's the only possible reason why he has a show on PBS.
He's does what a good houseboy needs to do. Smear conservative groups like the Tea Party in any way he can. He's a liberal tool. Does the public really need to be subsidizing fools and rewarding stupidity like this?
Update and fact check: A small walk back. George Tiller was shot and killed just last year. The late term abortion doctor died at the hands of Scott Roeder. So it was a lot less than ten years ago since the last one.
