Remember who the tolerant ones are. But who are you going to believe, what was told to you or what you see with your own lying eyes?

Thought Police Operating In Oz?
UPDATE II: The story was only kinda sorta true. It was blown out of proportion, if you will. Thanks to Ace who fell for it too.
UPDATED: Linked by The Daily Gator.
The Aussie government is there to help protect the children by banning porn actresses with A-Cups.
So, if this makes sense to a government bureaucracy, why not turn your health care over to them as well?*
To Clarify: This is not a defense of pedophilia. Rather the round about thinking that lawmakers go through to help 'protect' the populace. The justification using 'For The Children' is trotted out for a case of getting a foothold in censorship.
*Granted, it's the Australian government but it's still a bureaucratic organization trying to control and regulate everything deemed 'bad'.

Just when you thought that extremist knee jerk fear based reactions to non existent threats were something only the Northern Hemisphere got into, Australia has banned adult material with small breasted women in it, fearing that filthy pedophiles will gain enjoyment from it.

One Top Ten list to read
As 2008 starts to wind down, everyone starts to do a best of/worst of top ten list. This one that the Young American's Foundation has done is a must read though. Academia's shining examples of tolerance.
That is one of the more milder of the listings.
7. Hey, that feather cap is racist. For decades, kindergarten classes in the Claremont district of California have celebrated Thanksgiving by dressing up as Pilgrims and Indians and sharing a feast. Harmless, eh? Apparently not. In a letter to her daughter’s elementary school teacher, Michelle Raheja, an English professor at University of California-Riverside, fumed that such activities are “dehumanizing” and serve as a “racist stereotype.” In fact, Ms. Raheja whined that the Thanksgiving costume party is comparable to parading children around as “slaves” and “Jews.” The school district capitulated, and now the toddlers are prohibited from wearing “their hand-made bonnets, headdresses and fringed vests.”
That is one of the more milder of the listings.
