Video: John McCain "I Chose Lying"
Vai here, there and everywhere.*
The main reason I would like to see McCain booted from office would be to put other Senators on notice. Maybe they would sit straighter when people came to their office with complaints about how Congress is spending other people's money. Lindsey Graham, I'm looking at you.
All too often, people talk about getting more conservative politicians into office and booting the squishes. But when push comes to shove, they're back to the LOTE (Lesser of Two Evils) vote. The old habits die hard.
Now is the chance for conservatives to put their vote where their mouth is. Vote for J.D. Hayworth and give McCain his walking papers.
It's been argued in the comments over at Spade's place about Hayworth and is he a crook or not. No more so than McCain.
So look to the larger picture. What kind of message would this send to the people in the US Senate if someone as politically safe as McCain should be out of a job? Would they write it off as a purge? Or if more 'purges' should happen, would Congress start to listen to their constituents again? If the man who is a fixture in the Senate is no longer there due to the will of the people, shouldn't that shake up the halls of Congress? No political position should ever be considered safe.
Make this year the year of the anti-incumbent. Vote Hayworth.
*I've been trying not to bogart video clips as of late. It's a bad blogging form, same as snipping entire clips of a news article from one blog then posting a courtesy link at the end, leaving nothing to click over and see. Otherwise known as 'Pulling a Chuckie Johnson'.** In this case, the video has been around so I figured it was safe to use.
**I made that up on the spot.

John McCain. The Matthew Lesco Of The US Senate.*
He's looking to give away money like a stranger in an unmarked van gives away candy to kids.

John McCain Continues To Piss Down The Backs Of Arizona Voters And Telling Them That It's Raining
Via Hot Air.
It appears this will be part II in an ongoing series.
I have to agree with Allahpundit that this ad isn't as bad as 'Build The Dang Fence' where McCain looks angry enough to chew prickly pear cactus but it is a close second.
To accuse J.D. Hayworth of being an insider when McCain has been in Washington DC for almost 30 years is laughable. McCain prided himself on being the 'Man To Get Things Done' in the Senate. He worked across the isle more times than I can count. He couldn't attain such a status if he wasn't an 'insider'. Is he looking to reclaim the 'Maverick' title again?

John McCain Loosing Campaign Staffers Faster Than He Flip Flops On Positions
And if you've seen his "Build the dang fence" commercial, that's pretty damn fast.
Sen. John McCain's re-election bid lost its campaign manager and another veteran Republican official, part of a shake-up for the Arizona lawmaker locked in a tight primary race with radio host and former Rep. J.D. Hayworth.
The pair of GOP hands—who started before Hayworth entered the race—will instead work on the Republican National Committee's effort in Arizona. Campaign spokesman Brian Rogers said neither Shiree Verdone nor Mike Hellon, a former Arizona GOP chairman, were fired.
"Senator McCain is very grateful for all that Shiree and Mike have done to launch the re-election campaign and establish it on a firm footing and looks forward to working closely with them for victory in November," Rogers said in a statement.
McCain, his party's 2008 presidential nominee, drew a Republican primary challenge that has forced him to the right. The one-time champion of a moderate, bipartisan approach to immigration now is running ads demanding Washington finish "the danged fence" he once mocked.

John McCain Pisses Down Arizona Voter's Backs, Tells Them It's Raining
Via Robert McCain.
This is the worst case of political whiplash I've seen.
This was the sameMaverick McCain who introduced Amnesty with Teddy Kennedy. Now he wants to enforce the border and build a fence? The man is pandering for votes. He claimed to be principled and have honor but now when his Senate job is on the line, he'll sell himself out in an instant.
Michelle Malkin has more aboutMaverick McCain:
Anymore, a vote forMaverick McCain will leave Arizona like an abused woman in a hospital wondering why her drunken boyfriend just beat her up again when he promised he would change.
As Bob Belvedere would say, "It's dog track time."
Vote J.D. for Senate.

McCain has never admitted he was wrong about his support of:
*The $700 billion all-purpose, earmark-stuffed TARP bailout;
*The $25 billion auto bailout;
*The $300 billion mortgage entitlement bailout; and
*The first $85 billion AIG bailout.

With Video Clips Like These, JD Hayworth Should Have No Problems Making Campaign Commercials
AKA: Insights into why McCain lost his election for US President.
By all accounts, Maverick has learned his lesson and is running a pretty fierce primary against noted conservative JD Hayworth. Maybe because Hayworth is a Republican.
I need to take a departure from my fellow Barbarian In Arms with my stand in solidarity against the endorsement of John McCain by Sarah Palin. Nothing against Palin but Hayworth leans more to the right and would be better serving in the Senate than McCain.

What The Repeal of McCain-Feingold Really Means
The Supreme struck down part of the McCain-Feingold law earlier this week as unconstitutional.
What that means to most people is explained right here. It's not just 'evil corporations'.
From the CATO Institute.

If Only W. Would Have Taken That Pledge
Liberals like to hiss and scream at George W. Bush as if he was Emmanuel Goldstein. But W. has done more to reach across the isle in the name of 'Working Together' than anything John 'Maverick' McCain has done in the past.
And thats for starters.
Pledge via Cassy and be sure to enjoy her rightfully calling a stupid moderate dumb.
- Medicare Part D.
- No Child Left Behind.
- Kept intact many of the appointees made by Clinton.
- TARP.
And thats for starters.

Other Things Overheard At The White House Corrispondance Dinner
If she didn't want to hear the answer she shouldn't have asked the question.
A few other things were overheard that night too:
Sen. John McCain’s daughter [Meghan McCain] — who writes online for The Daily Beast and will soon release a book about life as a Republican — lost it after getting stopped by security when she arrived at the White House Correspondents dinner Saturday. The problem? She had only two tickets, but brought two friends.
“The security guard sent her to talk to someone to sort out the situation, but Meghan got bratty and nastily told him, ‘We’ll just stand here then,’ like an insolent child,” our source said, adding that after dealing with the guard, “She muttered to her friends, ‘Does he even know who the f--- I am?’ ”
A few other things were overheard that night too:
- "For a Republican who likes to write about sex, you sure aren't trying to hard to get your extra friend inside."
- [Alternate take] "Meghan, you will have to do what Helen Thomas did when she was a ticket short."
- "That's the same thing Alexandra Kerry said four years ago.
- "The president should be squirming in his seat. Not smiling. The black dyke got it wrong. No one told her the rules." [I'm not kidding on this one]
- "Who hit Whoopi with the ugly stick?"
- "Is it just me or when Pres. Obama tells a joke he reminds me of Urkel?" "Heretic!"
- "*gasps* Pres. Obama knows my name!"
- "If Helen Thomas gets to the open bar before we do, we'll never get a drink."
- "I like the cut of this young man's jib. This Sykes fellow."
- "No Meghan, both tickets are for you. One for you, the other for your ass."

Say It Ain't So
Ye Gods, John McCain needs help with principles?
Bless his heart and call me old fashioned but didn't principles use to be what helped make a man's character?
This is why the Republicans have lost and lost big these last two election cycles. To have to go to an outside source to see what they should believe.
No principles to stand on, no character, and no dinner plate at the policy table.

Sen. John McCain is putting together a major economic plan that will be structured, in some ways, off of Newt Gingrich's famous Contract With America.
In an email obtained by the Huffington Post, the Arizona Republican's chief of staff, Marc Buse, asked an outside adviser for help with a "ten principles" program that the senator could use as a "definitive" platform.
"We are looking for some guidance on a definitive plan (aka contract with america style) on the economy...principles," writes Buse. "Ten principles that JSM could point to on what MUST BE DONE to address the problems our nation faces."
No principles to stand on, no character, and no dinner plate at the policy table.
