Thaddeus McCotter Lays It On The Line About The New Debt Deal Being Complete Garbage

Presidential Candidate and Congressman from Michigan explains why the bill smells like a bad foot fungus. He didn't say that exactly but sometimes you need to fill in the blanks.



It's worth the listen because he describes how the Super Committee will work and why it the Republicans will be over the barrel with it.

Seriously, the GOP needs to get this guy in front of the cameras more often to explain their cause to the public.

That being said, his vote for the budget bill (via Michelle Malkin) was more for party unity rather than principal. That's the only thing I can see why he voted for this bill which he is describing as 'unbalanced'. Politics.

One take away is that at least he knows it's a turd sandwich and isn't trying to sell it as a french dip made from Wagyū beef on a kaiser roll. So there's that.

Congratulations.

Bob "Huggie Bear" Etheridge concedes with a 'Woe Is Me' type of speech that only Democrats can seem to pull off (See Wrangle, Charlie).

In a statement from his campaign, the seven-term congressman said, "The combination of the national tide that swept the country, massive amounts of secret corporate cash funding a campaign of distortions, and dirty politics by Washington D.C. partisan operatives was just too much to overcome."

Let's break this down one by one.

Why at was the cause of the national tide? An out of touch Congress not listening to their constituents.

Massive amounts of secret spending? As Robert Stacy noted, he outspent Rep.-elect Ellmers 3 to 1. To put that into perspective, Bob must grab the necks of three college students and slur uncontrollably, "Who're You?!" compared to the one neck he grabbed in his now famous video.

Dirty political party tricks. It's only dirty when the other side does it. And somehow manages the politician in question to grab a guy across the throat. Dirty. Completely dirty.

And partisan operatives. Duh. It's an election year and they are in the opposing party. As much as they are the party of stupid, Republicans have proved they can learn a thing or two from 'Macacca'.

A bit of a mea culpa here. It was all to easy to dogpile on Bob "Colombian Necktie" Etheridge when the video first hit the internet. I missed the obvious connection that it was orchestrated in part by the RNCC. At the very least, by someone who equipped the two operatives and sent them into the streets where they knew Nancy Pelosi and several other Democrat members of Congress were having a meeting. It was pure luck that Bob "Full Nelson" Ethridge in some sort of drunken stupor* when he asked them, "Who're you?"

Now he's history. Make no mistake however, Etheridge was no more "TMZ'd" than George Allan was.

Congratulations, Rep.-elect Ellmers. I've waited a long time to say that.

*And he has still yet to deny it. It's the seriousness of the charge outweighs any burden of proof. Don't look at me like that. It's their rules. I just live by them.

This Is Welcome News

The official recount is coming to an end and it looks like Renee Ellmers-- baring any suddenly "found" ballot boxes-- will be declared the winner.

Ellmers held a lead of about 1,500 votes out of nearly 190,000 cast in the 2nd Congressional District. She has spent the week in Washington getting oriented with the job in anticipation that she will be declared the official winner.

The State Board of Elections is expected to certify election results at a meeting next Tuesday.

Now Bob "The Chicken Choker" Etheridge will have to throttle strangers as a private citizen instead of as a member of Congress.

Good thing too, I was running out of titles for him. The Streetside Strangler, Noted Chokehold Expert, Neck Wrangler, Sleeper Hold, "Who're You?". . . It can be taxing after a while.

Bob "Sleeper Hold" Etheride Asks For Recount

The ballots are counted and there's less than 1% difference between Bob and Renee Ellmers. Allowing Bob to ask for a recount.

Down by some 1,500 votes, North Carolina Rep. Bob Etheridge (D) has asked for a recount in his race against Republican challenger Renee Ellmers.

Etheridge trails by 1,489 votes, according to the North Carolina Board of Elections' latest count. The seven-term Democrat has gained some 600 votes since Election Day, according his campaign.

Obviously this begs the question: Why does Bob Etheridge hate women? A very qualified candidate beat him and he's not conceding to her?

Bob "The Streetside Strangler" Etheridge Watch: Day One

He has today to announce if he intends to go ahead with his recount.

Bob Etheridge will learn today if he is entitled to a recount in his bid to retain the 2nd District seat in Congress.

Election results across North Carolina are to become official during today's canvass.

I would be surprised if he would concede the race at this point. The object is to recount and recount until he 'finds' enough votes to break his way. At the very least, hope for a run-off where he might win that instead. You don't spend fourteen years in Congress without wanting to hang on to that prestige and power like the neck of a college student who asked you a question.

By the way, help Renee out, you jackwagon.

This Election Isn't Over Yet

AKA, One Last Call For Ten Buck Friday.

Renee Ellmers still needs your help.

Noted choke-hold expert Bob Etheridge will not go faintly into the night after finding a couple of hundred ballots someplace. Etheridge's "Get The Extreme Elderly Out To Vote" seems to be working better than expected.

The margin was close but enough for a decisive win for Ellmers. Until a "counting error" was found. If anymore votes are "found", it trigger a recount by law. And the recount will go on and on until enough votes break for Bob "WWF" Etheridge.

Ellmers needs your support more than ever.

Election night, after the ten counties in my district had reported their votes, I led Bob Etheridge by 2,100 votes. (That number is crucial because under North Carolina law Congressman Etheridge is not entitled to an ‘automatic recount’ if he trails by more than 1% – or 1,888 votes.)

Then, yesterday afternoon – unexpectedly – the vote totals changed. The State Board of Elections reported my lead had dropped to 1,600 votes. Two hours later Bob Etheridge announced he intended to call for a recount.

As a result, last night my campaign began hiring attorneys – eleven attorneys in all. One in each county to monitor each recount and an attorney to work with the North Carolina State Board of Elections.

Right now, our best estimate of the minimum cost we face is $50,000. But, of course, my campaign spent every penny we had before the election.

Yesterday, we appealed to the National Republican Congressional Committee for support, asking if they could contribute to help pay the costs of this recount. Their answer, unfortunately, was, No – that we would have to raise the money to pay for the recount ourselves.

I was afraid that would be their answer. Months ago, I went to Washington and asked the National Republican Congressional Committee and many conservative leaders to help my campaign. Many conservative groups – like the Susan B. Anthony List, Concerned Women of America, Freedom Works, and Sarah Palin’s Sarah PAC all helped, but the NRCC declined. Later, they did support other campaigns in North Carolina – which, unfortunately, lost – but we never received their support. In fact, their spokesman told the press “that the campaign wasn’t ready for prime time” – which actually made it even harder for us to raise money. So, I am doubtful we will get support from the NRCC to help with the expense of the recount.

Since that time, the NRCC has finally done their part for this "Not Ready For Prime Time" candidate who happened to win her election. They did the job they are supposed to do.  

Back to Ten Buck Friday.

It was an amazingly simple concept that many blogs picked up on in the run up to the general election. At the end of each workweek, take 10 bucks (or 20 or 30 or whatever amount you wanted to use) and donate it. Instead of dinner for four at Pizza Hut, you could have bought a take and bake pizza and a bottle of soda and sent the price difference to the candidate of your choice. It's that easy.

So here is the scoop. I already donated to Renee's recount fund. And between all of the blogs I contribute to:

Out of those five blogs, surely there is a readership of more than a hundred people on any one day. And if those 100 readers could donate 10 bucks each, it would make it an easy grand in her bank. If it helps, I already donated $25 bucks this morning.

I don't make this bleg (blog beg) lightly. And I'm not saying that Bob "Five Martini Breakfast" Etheridge is out to steal this election. But I'm not not saying it either. And by steal I mean that liberals mean to render you mute on how you want this country to be ran. Don't let them steal your voice and your vote. Speak out today.

Bob Etheridge "Finds" Ballots

How convenient for him to want a recount. Considering that he lost to Renee Ellmers.

It's his right but it sounds like shenanigans of Al Franken proportions.* In case that's not clear enough: Yes, I'm saying that Bob "Who're you" Etheridge is going to try and steal this election.

The NC-2 Race, in which Renee Ellmers is poised to take down manhandling Bob “Who’re You” Etheridge, has gotten complicated. Last night, it looked like a clear victory for Ellmers and she claimed victory. The gap tightened, however, andnow he wants a recount.

Etheridge is a 6 term incumbent in what was considered a very safe seat for the Democrats. Unfortunately for Bob, it looks bad when you put a college student in a headlock for asking question, and his constituents suddenly became a lot less excited about supporting someone who might attack them.

Recounts and elections lawyers aren't cheap. Please donate to help out Renee.

*Back in 2009, a trunk full of ballots that were heavily slanted toward Al Franken just happened to have been found right before a recount.

I'm Calling It For Renee Ellmers

From the official election desk at the dusty headquarters of At The Point Of A Gun, Renee Ellmers beat incumbent democrat Bob "Who Are You?" Etheridge.

Finally, Local Press Has Brought Up Bob Etheridge's Assault. Vote Renee Ellmers!

Over 4 months ago, WRAL barely touched on Bob Etheridge's assault (what else would you call it?). Now with less than a week to the elections, it's being brought up again. And rightfully so.

In June, a video released on the Internet showed seven-term Congressman Bob Etheridge engaged in a sidewalk confrontation with a man in Washington, D.C. He grabbed the arm and then the neck of the man, who refused Etheridge's repeated demands to identify himself as he and another man videotaped Etheridge and asked if he supported "the Obama agenda."

Etheridge immediately apologized for the incident, but together with the national surge by the Republican Party, the video helped put his opponent, Renee Ellmers, on the campaign map.

The video is "Controversial" because Etheridge is a Democrat. Compare the coverage of this to what a mere supporter of Rand Paul did to a Move On Activist loon.

The latest ad from Renee Elmers about Bob Etheridge.

Even if he didn't vote in goose step unison with Nancy Pelosi for ObamaCare and pretty much anything else that came along, I still wand Etheridge to fail. Because of his drunken behavior of grabbing those two students who asked him a question.

And why do I say drunken? He hasn't denied it, that's for sure.

Is Etheridge losing ground? Maybe. Why would he enlist a Republican to appear in one of his ads instead of running on his less than stellar voting record?

In 1960, Linwood Parker was a leader of young, aspiring Republicans in Four Oaks, where he is now mayor. Parker was 12, and he says he thought the world was surely coming to an end when Richard Nixon lost the presidential race.

Since those early years, Parker, 63, has emerged as a go-to guy for Republican candidates campaigning in Johnston County. So his recent appearance in a television ad for U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge, a Democrat, raised some eyebrows.

Renee Ellmers. Who was one of the candidates Gov. Palin endorsed on the 90th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment.

Etheridge has issued an apology for his behavior:

"I deeply and profoundly regret my reaction and I apologize to all involved," he said. "Throughout my many years of service to the people of North Carolina, I have always tried to treat people from all viewpoints with respect. No matter how intrusive and partisan our politics can become, this does not justify a poor response. I have and I will always work to promote a civil public discourse. And will be swearing off of martini's before 10 in the morning"

I might have added that last line.
